We've asked each of our 20+ team members to reflect on and write about their experience of serving on our 2009 medical mission. We're pleased to share their stories with you.
The team was given five questions to help them organize their thoughts:
- What surprised you about the mission?
- What three patient experiences will stay with you?
- How has this experience changed/enhanced your personal sense of serving the poor and disenfranchised?
- What thoughts or feelings can you offer about your colleagues who traveled this journey with you? What was it like to be on this team with this group of caregivers?
- What challenged you about the mission?
Team members were not bound to these questions in their responses and were encouraged to elaborate on other subjects if those experiences were meaningful.
We'll post one or two of these each day so check back often.
