The 2009 Mission Team leaves on October 15th for Guatemala. Our last two missions to Esquipulas were very successful both for the increasing numbers of people we were able to see and the connections we were able to make with the local public health system. This year's mission will continue our primary caregiving, but will include a greater focus on transferring responsiblity for primary care to the local health clinics and educating the Health Promoters. Building in this kind of self-sufficiency is the goal of all our efforts and we're pleased that this has come along so quickly.
If you would like to help support this mission and the sustainability of health care in Esquipulas, please consider making a donation. Our team members have each been asked to raise $2,000 to help support the mission costs. Any amount helps.
Thank you!
